Waiting on Approval to Work at Sunset Ridge Road. Roadway Improvements to Begin

·         Removing the existing asphalt surface in preparation for installing new asphalt surface

We have made continued attempts to receive the required approvals to complete the final water main connection at Maple Lane and Sunset Ridge Road. Please understand the Village is doing everything possible to get the project completed in a timely manner. We understand the frustration living within a construction zone with limited or no construction activity on-going.

Since the approvals are taking substantially longer than anticipated, the contractor will being the roadway improvement prior to getting the required approvals to make the connection at Sunset Ridge Road and Maple Lane.

We are continuing to wait for approvals to make the final water main connection along Sunset Ridge Road. Once the approvals are received, the remaining underground utility work will be scheduled as quickly as possible. Once the underground utilities are completed, the roadway rehabilitation and landscape restoration phases of the project will begin.

Majority of Underground Utility Improvements Completed

·         Connection between existing water main and new water main at Maple Lane and Glen Oak Drive

·         AT&T continued with utility line relocation and replacement.

The underground utility work being performed under the Village of Glenview contract is nearly completed, with the exception of the final connection near Sunset Ridge and Maple Lane. Once the underground work and AT&T work is completed, the roadway rehabilitation and landscape restoration phases of the project will begin.

AT&T Working On-Site

Work Completed Last Week, May 9^th to 13^th

·         Continued with water service replacements

·         AT&T on-site replacing and relocating utility lines

Work Anticipated to be completed Next week, May 16^th to May 20^th  

·         Connection between existing water main and new water main at Maple Lane and Glen Oak Drive scheduled for Monday, May 16^th

·         Abandon old valve vaults and fire hydrants.

·         AT&T contractor to complete utility line relocations and replacements

AT&T is continuing to relocated and install new utility lines along the project site. This work is anticipated to be completed near the middle to end of next week. Once AT&T has completed their work, the Village’s contractor will return to complete the remaining work.

AT&T to Begin Utility Line Replacement and Relocation.

Work Completed Last Week, May 2^nd to May 6^th  

·         Continued with storm sewer mainline installation

·         Continued with storm sewer service installations to individual homes

·         Grind-in-place asphalt

·         Sanitary sewer service replacements

·         Received required approvals to place new water main into service

·         Started water service replacements

Work Anticipated to be completed Next week, May 9^th to May 13^th

·         Complete water service replacements

·         AT&T contractor on-site replacing and relocating utility lines

Water service replacements will continue, and hopefully be completed, along Maple Lane next week. Water services will be replaced from the new water main to the existing valve and box located in front of each home. During the water service replacement, water to individual homes will be shut-off for approximately 1 to 2 hours while the transition from the old service to the new service is made. The contractor will notify each resident individually regarding the approximate time and day of the water shut-off prior to turning off the water.

AT&T is anticipated to be on-site next week beginning utility line replacement and relocation. It is anticipated this work will take approximately 2 weeks to complete. During this time, the contractor hired by the Village to construct the public improvements will not be on-site performing work. With the narrow roadways and limited space to work, it would not be advantageous to have both contractors working at the same time.  The Village will monitor the schedule and progress of the AT&T contractor. As soon as they are completed with their improvements, the Village improvements will begin again.

Storm Sewer to Continue. Water Service Replacements to Begin

Work Completed Last Week, April 25^th to April 29^th  

·         Open cut water main installation along Maple, Glen Oak, and Linden.

·         Made connection to existing water main at Glen Oak Drive and Linden Lane

·         Installation of valves and fire hydrants

·         Started storm sewer installation

·         Began performing required testing prior to placing water main into service

Work Anticipated to be completed Next week, May 2^nd to May 6^th

·         Continue with storm sewer installation

·         Receive required approvals prior to placing the water main into service

·         Begin water service replacements

The majority of the water main installation is now completed. Once the required approvals are received, the contractor will begin replacing the water services to each individual home. It is anticipated water service replacement will begin Thursday of next week.

Water services will be replaced from the new water main to the existing valve and box located in front of each home. During the water service replacement, water to individual homes will be shut-off for approximately 1 to 2 hours while the transition from the old service to the new service is made.
